As the 15 days showcause notice to Kingfisher  to explain its status and submit the new schedule expires, suspension might be in the air, CNBC is reporting. This follows our earlier story where the DGCA had expressed serious concern over the running of the airline. DGCA had told Aerospace Diary:"The situation will evolve...We are looking at all possibilities," just 30 minutes back. Could these words have been prophetic?

Neelam Mathews March 19, 2012 Things seem dire for Kingfisher by the looks of it. DGCA E.K Bharat Bhushan has expressed serious concern over Kingfisher’s state of affairs to Aerospace Diary. The meeting we had reported earlier with the Kingfisher management for filing of the revised schedule with the DGCA did not take place. “It is strange that an important planned meeting with an eminent government body like this was not attended by the airline's officials,” says an analyst. “We are doing everything to see Kingfisher’s operations are being run in a safe manner. We are concerned with what is happening with operations severely truncated…(and) a pilot agitation on….The situation will evolve. We are looking at all possibilities,” says Bhushan to Aerospace Diary. Increasingly, safety of the carrier is being questioned by the industry. Neelam Mathews March 12, 2012 Many Kingfisher Airlines pilots that gave an ultimatum to the management that they would no longer fly the carrier if they were not paid for their services, stuck to their word. Aerospace Diary learns that 20 percent of KFAs flights were pulled out last night and by the looks of it, passengers can expect more cancellations today. 40 more flights have been cancelled over the curtailed schedule. Kolkata operations have been stopped today. Neelam Mathews Feb 20, 2012 Following the recent pullouts by Kingfsiher Airlines and fiasco at Kolkata airport, Aerospace Diary has learnt the DGCA will be suspending the license of Kingfsiher Airlines. This could not however, be confirmed.

Neelam Mathews Jan 18, 2012 Aerospace Diary learns a Kingfisher flight leaving for Mumbai from Delhi at around 3pm had no valets nor loaders to handle luggage as they decided to demand dues owed to them by the carrier. Aerospace Diary has confirmed they are on strike. Following the safety scare, which we feel was a bit misconstrued and badly handled last week, the Kingfisher aircraft on the runway returned “due to a technical fault,” that was reported to airport officials. However, passengers inflight had another story to tell. An announcement made by the captain that there was “a burning smell,"  the reason they were not taking off, panicked most who had read the safety story last week. What a way to instill confidence in your customers! The good news is the flight was full.
