SITA to provide passenger processing technology to San Diego International Airport
Posted by- Neelam Mathews Jan 4, 2012 IT solutions specialist, SITA, has been selected by San Diego International Airport to provide the passenger processing technology to underpin the airport’s $1 billion dollar improvement project. San Diego is the eighth-largest city in the U.S and second largest in California. San Diego ’s “Green Build” is the largest project in the airport’s history and will allow it to expand from the 17 million passengers it currently serves to an estimated 33 million by 2030. As part of this multi-year deal, SITA says it will provide a local departure control system (a boarding pass and bag tag issuing system for airlines without connection to their normal system), more than 300 information display monitors, over 100 common use self-service (CUSS) kiosks, along with 150 common use passenger processing system (CUPPS) workstations.
