William Kircher is the new Vice President, Singapore Overhaul & Repair of Pratt & Whitney Global Service Partners. Kircher will lead Pratt & Whitney Global Service Partners' six part repair and engine overhaul businesses in Singapore and Taiwan. Pratt & Whitney is a division of United Technologies Corp. "This new position signals our commitment to continue operating in the quickly growing Asia Pacific region," said Jerry Tarnacki, Pratt & Whitney Global Service Partners vice president. "We aim to put forward strengthened teamwork from our Global Service Partner network in the region, and w e’re excited to have Bill take this lead given his time spent in the region." Now Pratt & Whitney CEO David Hess has said Boeing may be forced to go back to the drawing board for a new airplane to protect sales. Pratt & Whitney believes the engine chosen by Boeing is too small. "Time will tell. Boeing responded to pressure ... and if they feel they don't have a competitive airplane against the (Airbus) A320neo, they may be forced to accelerate or look at their plans for a (new plane)," Pratt & Whitney Chief Executive David Hess said.
