February 11, 2014, 3:15 AM Business aviation services group Jet Aviation (Booth E83) is set to significantly boost its maintenance capability in Asia when it completes construction of 79-foot high second hangar at Singapore’s Seletar Aerospace Park in April. The new $25 million facility will triple the size of its present facility adding almost 54,000 sq ft of hangar space. December 11, 2012, 1:45 PM Business for general aviation providers in India is generally slow as the economy shows signs of slackening, yet 60-year-old Mumbai-based  Air Works Engineering  is looking at innovative ways to expand its business in India and abroad. “We are now looking at doing heavier checks in India–one of the first in the country–as we will get certification, one-by-one, for the Bombardier series, Bell Helicopters and Hawker Pacific,” managing director Vivek Gour told  AIN . Neelam Mathews Nov 5, 2012 ST Aerospace is adding a narrow-body aircraft hangar at its Changi facility in Singapore.  The total investment in the hangar and associated equipment amounts to $11m.  The new hangar is expected to be operational by the end of third quarter 2013.   At over 3,600 sq.m, the new hangar will be able to accommodate two narrow-body aircraft such as the Boeing 737 and Airbus A320, contributing an additional 200,000 man-hours annually.   The capacity expansion is in response to robust demand for ST Aerospace’s line and base maintenance services at Changi, especially from the growing fleet of low-cost carriers which typically operate narrow-body aircraft.     Apart from Changi, ST Aerospace operates two other airframe maintenance, repair and overhaul facilities in Singapore located in Seletar Aerospace Park and Paya Lebar.  In February this year, it commenced construction to expand its Seletar facility.  The ad...

Neelam Mathews Singapore Feb 10, 2012 Lufthansa Technik Philippines (LTP), one of the largest providers of aircraft maintenance services in Asia, has opened a third hangar in Manila for work on widebody aircraft. With this step, the company is preparing for the technical support of the world's largest commercial aircraft. Lufthansa Technik Philippines, a joint venture between Lufthansa Technik (51%) and the Philippine MacroAsia Corporation (49%), invested USD 30 million in the construction of the new hangar, which is 8,500 square meters large and 35 meters in height. The new hangar offers space to work simultaneously on one widebody and two narrowbody aircraft.
