Jet, reporting $689 million in declared losses last year, expects to show profits by 2017, founder and chairman Naresh Goyal said at a July 23 press conference in New Delhi. A slowed economy, infrastructure constraints, and rupee depreciation have in the past years resulted in massive losses for airlines in India. Goyal was spotted at Udaipur airport taking the flight back to Mumbai this morning, Aerospace Diary learns.

Starting from January 1, 2013 flights to the southern Indian city of Kozhikode will more than double, from 3 to seven a week. On the routes between Europe and Abu Dhabi, Etihad Airways customers will be able to fly on the  Amsterdam-Abu Dhabi daily flight operated by KLM.  Air France customers will be able to travel everyday between Paris-Charles de Gaulle and Abu Dhabi  on Etihad Airways operated flights.
