Ruag Shows Off Super Puma Upgrade, Delivers Do 228s

(Photo: Mark Wagner) June 18, 2013, 2:30 PM Making its Paris debut in the static display is a Swiss air force Eurocopter AS 332 Super Puma that has undergone the TH 06 ISR upgrade by Ruag Aviation (Chalet A118, Static R). The Swiss company has designed and installed a major avionics overhaul that allows the Super Puma fleet to continue to provide service for many years to come. Switzerland originally purchased 15 AS332M 1 Super Pumas, which are designated TH 89 in Swiss air force service. The air arm later went back to Eurocopter for 11 AS532UL / TH 98 Cougars. Gripen wins Swiss bid

Posted by- Neelam Mathews Dec 1, 2011 The Swiss government has selected Gripen as its future multirole fighter aircraft for the Swiss Air Force. "The Swiss type-selection confirms that Saab is a market-leader in the defense and security industry and that Gripen is a world-class fighter system that provides the best value for money”, says HÃ¥kan Buskhe, President and CEO Saab. The Gripen program will create a long-term partnership between Switzerland and Sweden. Saab says. The long-term strategic industrial co-operation is aimed at creating sustainable high tech jobs, transferring technology and generating export business. Saab, says it "stands prepared to start negotiations and await the next steps of the process." Gripen, that lost the Indian fighter bid,   is in service with the Swedish, Czech Republic, Hungarian, South African and Royal Thai Air Forces.
