Neelam Mathews Jan 9, 2012 Embraer today announced it has selected Pratt & Whitney’s PurePower Geared Turbofan engine as the exclusive power for its new second generation of the E-Jet aircraft family. Pratt & Whitney is a division of United Technologies Corp. Planned to enter service in 2018, the Embraer E-Jets equipped with PurePower PW1700G and PW1900G engines will offer significant reductions in fuel burn, emissions, noise and operating costs. Pratt & Whitney President David Hess said: “Embraer’s selection of the PurePower engine is another significant endorsement of this game-changing technology.” The PurePower engine uses an advanced gear system allowing the engine’s fan to operate at a different speed than the low-pressure compressor and turbine. 

Posted by- Neelam Mathews Sept 20, 2011 Jet Airways has taken delivery of the first of its eleven Boeing 737-800 with Sky Interior. It has the Boeing 787 inspired shape, color, décor and texture. The balance aircraft will be delivered between October 2011 and March 2013. The bright new color and décor of the aircraft with modern, sculpted sidewalls and larger windows, combined with the effect of the light-emitting diode (LED) lighting significantly enhances the sense of spaciousness in the cabin, says Boeing. Another feature are the new pivot bins, with greater overhead bin capacity for storage. Of the 11 new aircraft, 2 Boeing 737 – 800 will have 16 Première and 138 Economy Class seating configuration complete with Jet Airways world-class in-flight entertainment system. March 23, 2011 Neelam Mathews Oman Air has become the eighth E-Jets operator in the Middle East following the delivery of the first EMBRAER 175 jet to Oman air at  São José dos Campos, Brazil. The aircraft will serve the airline’s regional routes operating from Muscat International Airport. The delivery is the first of five firm orders announced in 2009. Oman Air’s EMBRAER 175s are configured with 71 seats, in a dual-class layout, with 11 seats in the business class and 60 in economy. “The E-Jets are the ideal platform from which we can expand our regional route network and better align frequency with demand,” said Peter Hill, CEO of Oman Air. “Having this flexibility allows us to introduce more point-to-point routes currently not sustainable with larger aircraft, as well as upgrading our services to domestic destinations like Khasab and other new airports currently being developed within the Sultanate of Oman.” Oman Air has also signed the Embraer Pool Flight Hour Progra...
