Neelam Mathews  21 September 2017 The government of Vietnam has reaffirmed its intention to sell a 20% stake in Airports Corporation of Vietnam (ACV) in 2018, followed by a further 10.4% divestment in 2020. By then, traffic through Vietnamese airports will exceed 100 million including 82 million domestic passengers, investment management firm VinaCapital calculates. In August 2017, the government included ACV in a list of 406 state-owned enterprises to be partially or fully divested by 2020. Vietnam steering committee addresses cyber Neelam Mathews, Delhi - IHS Jane's Airport Review 13 April 2017     In a belated response to a major cyber attack in 2016, the Vietnamese government is setting up a national steering committee for aviation cyber security, at the recommendation of the National Civil Aviation Security Committee. Neelam Mathews April 9, 2012 Jet Airways will increase its international flights to 518 flights per week from the current 370 by winter 2012. The 35 new flights will include destinations in Germany, France, Gulf and Vietnam, Aerospace Diary learns. .

Neelam Mathews Aug 1, 2011 The Vietnam Marine Police has taken delivery of the first of three transport and Surveillance aircraft. C212-400 ordered from Airbus Military. The second aircraft will be delivered later this year, and the third in early 2012.  The C212-400 series incorporates the latest systems and technologies, such as a Flight Management System (FMS). Travel/Distribution Systems Aviation Daily May 05 , 2010 , p. 14 Neelam Mathews The battle for business between Malaysia Airlines (MAS) and budget carrier AirAsia is getting fiercer on the Vietnam route. “As an airline, we have transformed and we are fighting for our rights, as are AirAsia and AirAsia X,” Azmil Zahruddin, MAS managing director and CEO, told a local daily. AirAsia has purchased a 30% stake in VietJet Aviation and plans to launch a new low-cost carrier in Vietnam that will fly both local and international routes in August. MAS, in anticipation, has added five flights from Kuala Lumpur to Ho Chi Minh City, bringing total weekly flights to 19. MAS says average passenger load factors on the sector are 75%. MAS also offers daily flights to Hanoi. “We are committed to the Vietnamese market. These additional frequencies will provide more options to our customers to suit their travel plans,” said Amin Khan, MAS senior general manager, network and revenue management.
