Seaplane flights from Goa International Airport to Mandovi River will launch by the end of December to tap the ongoing tourist season.

(Mehair), which was recently awarded a contract by the Gujarat government to start intra-regional air services in the western state of India. Mehair is expected to start Goa services by December 22. Bookings can be made on hummingbird.com The company already runs a similar service in the Andamans and in the state of Maharashtra, and has no issue with airstrips in India.
“The main challenge is to get the market to try out the service which is a new concept in the country. This is where our strategy of patience kicks in,” co-founder and director Siddharth Verma told Travel Weekly.
Mehair conducted trial landings of its seaplane Cessna 208 Amphibian in Girgaon Chowpatty recently, making Mumbai one of the few mega cities in the world with a seaplane service operating from the heart of its business district.
The company will launch flights to Dhoom Dam (Mahabaleshwar), known for its ancient temples next.
