The Airports Authority of India is looking for bomb detection and disposal systems for 18 airports in its first phase for which it has a budget of Rs 300 crores, Aerospace Diary learns.

The Police, too is looking at bomb disposal equipment, though “decisions take a while in maturing there. Compared to the Police, the Airports Authority of India is dynamic,” says an OEM.

Around six to seven companies from the US, Israel and Germany are bidding for the tender.
