Large chunk of orders secured from Asia, says Rolls

Statement by Anil Shrikhande, President Rolls-Royce India following Rolls Royce results announced today-


 “The Results announced today demonstrate the positive progress Rolls-Royce is making around the world - about 40% of the £8.7bn in orders secured during the first half were from customers in the Asia region, which is increasingly important to us. 

As you are aware Rolls-Royce has a trusted relationship with India since 1932 leading with its civil aerospace and defence aerospace sectors. Currently, all our businesses are well represented here and India is playing a growing role in the scale of our global operations.

From licensed production to engineering services and component manufacture, the Rolls-Royce business continues to expand.  We will continue to develop our vision for Rolls-Royce in India as a leading power systems company, deeply embedded in India’s industrial fabric and visibly contributing to its infrastructure and modernization needs. This is an exciting time for Rolls-Royce and our partners in India.”

BSF launches ERP solution

Chidambaram, Union Home Minister at the BSF HQ in New Delhi. . “The Intranet Prahari Project valued at Rs. 229 Crores was sanctioned by MHA in February 2010. The project is an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) Solution through NIIT Technologies Ltd for Border Security Force (BSF) where  all major processes such as Finance, Inventory Management, Operations and Personnel Information have been automated and integrated to act as a robust and quick Decisions Support System and for consolidated view of data for analyses. Under this Project, network connectivity has been extended up to Battalion level i.e to 237 locations of BSF. AIA Calls for Measured Approach to (U.S) Defense Budget

Statement by AIA President and CEO Marion C. Blakey For some time our industry has advocated that reductions in the defense budget be made on the basis of a new national defense strategy that seeks to secure America’s future rather than simply applying lower numbers across-the-board. We therefore appreciate the evident hard work and thoughtful process that President Obama and Secretary Panetta described in developing the new strategy and their commitment to avoid arbitrary cuts. We are encouraged that Secretary Panetta made it clear once again that sequestration was not an option for the strong defense that our nation deserves. He also specifically recognized the importance of a strong industrial base to support the military. It’s been a long-standing concern of defense experts that ill-considered cuts will leave the industry unable to develop and build the technologies and the capabilities that have made America’s military the finest in the world.
