Aviation bosses urged to crackdown on pollies who dilly-dally

Times are changing and the people's voice is getting louder against favours to politicians in India. A social activist has demanded that the Indian ministry of civil aviation takes action against politicians who are in the habit of delaying flights.
Air India's Chicago-Delhi-Hyderabad flight AI-126, scheduled to take off at 1900 hours on February 20 was delayed by 45 minutes at Indira Gandhi International Airport (New Delhi) because "Chaudhary was allegedly busy shopping at the airport".
The instance of a Congress parliamentarian, Renuka Chaudhary, who "has become a habitual and repeat offender for causing flight-delays", has been cited.

The activist has sighted a similar incident that took place in March 2008 when Chaudhary delayed a Jetlite flight.
Delays caused by erring politicians are not new. A recent incident in Pakistan is one such example when passengers refused to let former interior minister Rehman Malik and a Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) lawmaker, Dr Ramesh Vankwani, to enter a PIA aircraft. The plane departed without the defaulters.
