One MiG–21 aircraft of IAF crashed at Uttarlai airbase on 15 Jul 2013 at about 9.30am. The aircraft was airborne from Uttarlai on a routine flying training sortie. The pilot sustained fatal injuries. There is no reported damage to any civil life or property. A Court of Inquiry has been ordered to investigate into the accident.
