Moscow's Vedomosti business daily quoted an official who said China was initially interested in purchasing only four Su-35s but that was rejected by Russia that was expecting to sell 48. It is believed China was asked to sign an agreement that stated the aircraft would not be copied! President of Russia's United Aircraft Corporation (UAC) Mikhail Pogosyan was quoted in November saying: "The Chinese are showing interest in this jet. But we have agreements that we disclose information only upon reaching actual agreements... Russia is going to present a prototype of the Su-35 at the air show in China in 2014 "I think in 2014 we will demonstrate state-of-the-art combat in a demonstration flight at the Zhuhai exhibition."
