The Indian Army is conducting a massive military exercise in Rajasthan involving around 50,000 troops and more than 100 tank artillery guns with Indian Air Force (IAF) planes providing tactical and strategic aerial support.
Exercise Sudarshan Shakti is being conducted jointly by the Southern Command and Ahmedabad-based South Western Air Command in Barmer-Jaisalmer sector. The exercise is led by the 21 Corps.
The basic aim of the exercise is to practise swift military action in synergy with the IAF. The exercise aims to test the newly introduced radars, unmanned aerial vehicles, surveillance systems, precision guided bombs and missiles and space-based assets.
