Vice Admiral Satish Soni has taken over as the Deputy Chief of Naval Staff at the Integrated Headquarters Ministry of Defense (Navy).

Vice Admiral Satish Soni has taken over as the Deputy Chief of Naval Staff at the Integrated Headquarters Ministry of Defense (Navy).
Soni has held various command and staff appointments in his career including the ocean going minesweeper INS Kakinada and the guided missile corvette Kirpan, the stealth frigate Talwar and the guided missile destroyer Delhi. As a Rear Admiral he commanded the Eastern Fleet of the Indian Navy. In his previous assignment, the Vice Admiral was Commandant of the National Defense Academy at Khadakvasla.
Commissioned into the Indian Navy on July 1, 1976, the Admiral is a specialist in Navigation and Aircraft Direction and an alumnus of National Defence Academy, Khadakvasla, Defense Services Staff College, Wellington and College of Naval Warfare, Mumbai.
