ITT Defense and Information Solutions will soon be known as ITT Exelis.
New York Stock Exchange will list the company under the symbol “XLS”.
The name change will occur when Defense & Information Solutions operations becomes a separate company.
The company has said the spinoff and its separate listing on the New York Stock Exchange will occur before Dec. 31.
Headquartered in McLean, Va, ITT Defense & Information Solutions, employs 1,800 people in Fort Wayne. The company under the new name will continue to design and produce products for communications, intelligence, surveillance, and information and technical services.
