The Supreme Court of India has struck down a plea to charge an Airport Development Fee (ADF) by developers of Mumbai international airport, GVK Power & Infrastructure.

Contrary to reports in the local media, the fee will continue to be charged by Delhi International Airport following the approval of the Airport Economic  Regulatory Authority (AERA) (that cannot be overruled).

On MIAL, the Supreme Court has said the fee cannot be levied without framing of rules, Aerospace Diary learns. Passengers at Mumbai airport will now not have to pay an additional amount for landing or taking off the airport.
