Bangkok Airways is looking to expand in India having applied for rights to operate flights to Bangalore and Chennai from Bangkok. Subject to approval, flights to Bangalore route may start this year, followed by Chennai in 2012. 
Kingfisher Airlines has added a third daily frequency between of Bangalore and Pune.  An estimated 413,000 O&D passengers travelled between the two destinations in the past year. Jet Airways offers 13 flights per week, while IndiGo and SpiceJet each offer one flight per day.
Budget flydubai is to launch flights to Jeddah and Riyadh in early May, increasing destinations in Saudi Arabia to five.
Singapore Airlines says it will increase fuel surcharge on tickets issued after April 21 as jet fuel prices have risen over 30 percent since Jan 1.
Virgin Atlantic will be re-starting direct flights from London Heathrow to Chicago on May 9 four times a week and then increasing to a daily from May 22.
Aeroflot Russian Airlines is to resume (twice weekly) flights to Colombo on Nov 1 after a ten year gap.  The Ho Chi Minh City route will be introduced from October 3. 
Virgin Blue and its subsidiary, V Australia, have become members of the International Air Transport Association (IATA) – an unusual step for a low-cost airline. It may be looking soon at international routes. 
Singapore Airlines will reduce capacity between Singapore Changi and Los Angeles for a three month period this summer between May 3 and July 27 to just five flights per week.  
Turkish Airlines began accepting passengers for the Singapore- Jakarta leg of its daily Istanbul – Singapore – Jakarta route this week after receiving fifth freedom traffic rights.  12 carriers offer scheduled air services between the destinations.  
Vietnam Airlines is to introduce flights three times weekly schedule on the Kaohsiung - Hanoi route from June 17.
AirAsia Indonesia will introduce a second daily link to Singapore from Badung, a popular weekend break destination. 
Lufthansa Cargo launches Dhaka all-cargo service  
Scandinavian Airlines has dropped its thrice weekly Copenhagen – Dubai link from its winter schedule as it is facing strong competition from Emirates Airline, which is launching a daily year-round flight on August 1.  
Gulf Air, is to boost capacity to Milan from July 1 with the introduction of two additional weekly flights to Malpensa Airport. 
US start-up carrier LV Air will provide Boeing 767 non-stop jet service between McCarran International Airport, Las Vegas and John F Kennedy International Airport, New York and several other US cities, starting in autumn 2011.
